This September & October UK Cohousing Network are hosting events in Manchester, Cardiff, Bristol and London, featuring Charles Durrett, one of the English-speaking world’s pioneers of cohousing.Over more than 40 years, Charles has dedicated his professional life to designing, studying and promoting cohousing. His books have inspired many of the communities that now exist in the UK and have helped shape thinking on neighbourhood design, ageing well, sustainability, homelessness and neurodivergence. Charles has said this may be his last visit to the UK, making it a rare opportunity to hear his reflections in person, ask questions, discuss your own community or project, have books signed and perhaps pick up a copy you’ve been meaning to read.Whether you’re part of a developing group looking for practical ideas and encouragement, or an established community interested in Charles’ reflections on how communities continue to thrive over the long term—including themes from his recent book Happily Ever Aftering—we hope you’ll find the evening worthwhile.
